Brief and Process
The idea of Cafe Sano & Rico was born out of the Colombian Peace Treaty signed in 2016. Thanks to it, people that used to belong to guerillas were now shifting their efforts to becoming productive members of society, so many high-quality products were born from the Colombian farms but given the complexity of the conflict beforehand, it was not easy to market them.My client had the idea to create a coffee shop for these products so he could help all these families that were just trying to change their story, so the biggest challenge was to be able to resignify the perception of the citizens towards the origin of the products...
I chose a sunrise to represent the new beginning that the peace treaty meant to the country, as well as for the ex-combatant farmers.
This type of car is called Jeepao and it is very traditional all over the country. It represents a common symbol we all have as Colombians.
Coffee was the number one product produced by these farmers, and the coffee beans represent a coffee shop as well.
Finally, the mountains represent where all these products come from, strengthening the sense of being proud of our national products.
Application
Apart from the elements that compose the logo, I wanted to transmit the concept of a traditional business with high end products and service. I used the same concept consistently all throughout the brand within the elements created, such as the menu, stickers, posters, flyers, etc...
Flyer and Menu:
Product Labels:
Magnet Design:
Cover For Circular Tables:
Store Signage elements:
Commercial Stand Design:
The place intended for the coffee shop was an open space, so I designed a structure to hold the required equipment together (2 fridges, 1 sink, 1 freezer, 1 oven, a cooking table, and a Jeepao to place the coffee machine).
I suggested a clear brick texture to be consistent with the style that I created for the brand. The structure was made of glass fiber and built based on my design plans.

The coffee shop was opened to the public in August of 2021 in a shopping mall called Carrera in Bogota, Colombia. The inauguration had great sales and a very positive brand reception. Check out the photos from the opening day!
